Week Three - Research

RESEARCH

What did you learn from your
research?
This week from my research I learn that the challenge is that
rich and poor people faced in the Victorian era. I learned that
the conditions in which the poor people had to survive in word
dire, After researching these conditions i had a better
understanding of the rich and poor divide and what life was
like. I learned that homelessness in the Victorian era meant
having to sleep on the streets in the day because the police
would kick the poor Victorian homeless people off the streets
at night they had to sleep in wooden crates in the daytime. I
learned that overtime people were coming up with better
support the poor homeless Victorians and that the alleyways in
which some of them lived in we're being turned into houses for
the middle and upper class Victorians. I learned that for middle
class Victorian families the man of the family often worked as
a lawyer, doctor ET cetera walzt their children were able to go
to boarding school and the wife of The house usually stayed at
home as a housewife. They lived in beautiful houses with
stained glass and many rooms for the family, the upper class
had houses similar to these only better. For the upper class
they had enough money which meant they did not have To
work because they had enough money to lean on. So the
children of the upper class families in the daytime they were
either with their nanny all the families would get private tutors
in to give their children a proper education. But families of the
lowest class hot to make their children go out and work just so
they had enough money to survive on this meant that children
of the lowest class did not get an education until schemes
were being put in place to try and give these children to try
and give them an education but the upper class were a dense
this and did not help to fund this as they did not want to share
their money. Children of the lowest class we're prone to
diseases because their families could not afford medisen and
due to the conditions they were living in it meant that these

children were dying. Also for the upper class they were able to
afford Butler's servants and maids when the lower class could
only dream this. First after doing research on the Victorian era
I feel a lot more knowledgeable about what times were like
back then and how hard it was to survive if you are of a lower
class this will help with my production as I have a better
understanding of how to tell the homeless man story of how he
ended up like this and make it the most historically accurate I
possibly can.
It's helped me improve my idea because it's important to learn
off professionals to make your work better , it's also important
to see how animations have changed throughout time and how
it all began this was something that i felt important to research
how it all began. Saying how different seeing how animation
companies make the animations they do, helped me improve
because it was important to see a range of different
techniques and how they were made to tell the story in which
companies were trying to. I think in an industry such as
animation and stop motion animation it's important to learn off
of others and others who are more trained than you so you can
make your work better unlearn others tech techniques.
Researching the target audience in which I'm going to
be using for my animation has helped as I have a better
understanding of that age group and what they would
like to see, it's important to see what they are
interested in and what engages them, I think because I
fit into that target audience I was already
knowledgeable to what they might like to see Bert it's
important to get other ideas from people that are also
in that target audience because everyone is interested
in different things and everyone might like to see
different things but gathering the research i did helps
me make something that means I'm able to cater full
the whole target audience as a group and not just
specific people In that target audience. I thought it
important to ask people of that target audience over
message and what they think but also important search
the Internet as you have more genralised information.
After researching I now have a better understanding of
what I need to include in my animation for it to be
engaging for My target audience this will help my
animation become more successful an engagement.
Researching into the different platforms in which I
could show my animation off of has helpedhave helped
as I have a better understanding of different platforms.
The two platforms that I researched were YouTube and
Netflix as these are the most common platforms to use
for putting an animation onto after looking through
each of the platforms I discovered that YouTube was
the most common stop motion animation films but
Netflix also had Feature film stop motion animations on
because these were of a very high standard but after
searching through Netflix i did not say any short stop
motion animations but on YouTube I saw a lot more.
After researching these two platforms I evidently
decided start YouTube would be a more successful
 platform for my stop motion animation to be thought
onto as There were more on there and also the
message that I want to convey on the moral maybe
better represented on YouTube then Netflix as I could
experience some controversy if the animation with put
on some Netflix as someone from my focus group told
me.

What work do you need to complete I need to continue with more research for my
outside of lessons to stay on track? characters, platforms and making my survey results
more clear by possibly putting them on an info graphic
site.
