It is decided, I will come to live with
K-Mart Tree

Judgmental-dismissive labels and tags are NOT the way to go
And here’s a True Tale - it happened to me - I guess I should
know
"You can’t judge a book by its cover," an ol’ guy once told me
I recall what he said, when I get outa bed, and see, thru the
window, that tree
K-Mart...Cheap Tree...A dollar and a half
A thing of beauty? Dignity? Grace? Please, don’t make me
laugh
Was I, the moment I saw it, simply filled with delight?
At its stature? Its promise? No, oh, no - but, you see, the
price was right!
So, I obtained my cheap tree, and straight home we both
went
My tree was . . . pretty pretty - and I, quite giddy at how little
I’d spent
I removed the cheap tag, just as soon as we arrived home
Then the two of us went just east of my room, and stood
there all alone
Out came the Earth crumbs, in went the tree
And, at that moment, no one could know - at that moment,
no one could see
What, One Day, that Cheap Tree would, in fact, become
And, had I not seen her from that day to this, I’d surely’ve
been struck dumb
For there she stands now, where she blocks out the sun
Where she hosts herds of birds, who sing and have fun
Whose branches I trim - and they’re high . . . and it’s hard
To care for the largest, most luscious tree in my yard...
Which says something to me about people . . . and that tree
See, my tree didn’t know she was tagged almost free
Her value was not reflected by the tag that she bore
And neither is yours...need I say more?

Wolf and Dog

A wolf and a dog went out for a walk.
The Dog said to the Wolf, "Brother wolf, you look so thin!
How can you be happy when you are so thin? You should
come live with me and my master. I eat everyday and I never
want for food."
The wolf thought for a moment and replied, "Yes, you are
probably right. Why should I be out here in the wild
scrounging for food when someone else will give it to me?
And you are so well fed.
you."
"Good," said the dog, "then follow me."
As the dog walked ahead, the wolf saw that there was a spot
around the dog’s neck where the fur had been worn off.
"Brother Dog, " asked the wolf, "why do you have that patch
around your neck where there is no fur?"
The dog slowed down, stopped and turned to the wolf with
sadness in his eyes.
"That is where they place the leather leash around my neck
every night. They do this so they can control me and keep me
in my place while they sleep." replied the Dog, none too
eagerly.
"Never!" said the wolf as he began to trot back into the
forest. "I would rather be starving and free than to be fat and
a slave."
And with that the Wolf vanished back into the forest.

The Princess and the Pea
    Once upon a time there was a prince who wanted to
marry a princess; but she would have to be a real princess.
He travelled all over the world to find one, but nowhere
could he get what he wanted. There were princesses
enough, but it was difficult to find out whether they were
real ones. There was always something about them that
was not as it should be. So he came home again and was
sad, for he would have liked very much to have a real
princess.
 
    One evening a terrible storm came on; there was
thunder and lightning, and the rain poured down in
torrents. Suddenly a knocking was heard at the city gate,
and the old king went to open it.
 
    It was a princess standing out there in front of the gate.
But, good gracious! what a sight the rain and the wind had
made her look. The water ran down from her hair and
clothes; it ran down into the toes of her shoes and out
again at the heels. And yet she said that she was a real
princess.
    "Well, we'll soon find that out," thought the old queen.
But she said nothing, went into the bed-room, took all the
bedding off the bedstead, and laid a pea on the bottom;
then she took twenty mattresses and laid them on the
pea, and then twenty eider-down beds on top of the
mattresses.
 
    On this the princess had to lie all night. In the morning
she was asked how she had slept.
  
    "Oh, very badly!" said she. "I have scarcely closed my
eyes all night. Heaven only knows what was in the bed, but
I was lying on something hard, so that I am black and blue
all over my body. It's horrible!"
 
    Now they knew that she was a real princess because she
had felt the pea right through the twenty mattresses and
the twenty eider-down beds.
 
    Nobody but a real princess could be as sensitive as that.
 
    So the prince took her for his wife, for now he knew that
he had a real princess; and the pea was put in the
museum, where it may still be seen, if no one has stolen it.

Rapunzel
long time ago there lived a young couple, a man and his wife,
his wife was expecting their baby. She wanted a plant that
only grew in her neighbor's garden, she wanted it so much.
She even intended to steal it herself, but later on, she sent
her husband to steal it.
Unfortunately, mother Gothel, the owner of the garden,
caught him doing it. She was a witch. Then, mother Gothel
forced the couple to give their first baby to her.
A few months later, the baby was born. It was a girl and
named Rapunzel. Soon, this baby was taken away to live with
mother Gothel. Rapunzel grew to be a beautiful young girl
with her long golden hair. At first she was cared for in a
normal way. When she reached puberty, she was locked in
the forest. It could only be entered by climbing on Rapunzel's
long hair. To cheer herself up, she loved to sing.
have a baby yet. Every single minute they prayed to God,
begged for a baby, but it never came true.
One day, they went to Snow Mountain. They made a
girl from snow and they dressed her beautifully. When it got
dark, they decided to go home and left the snow girl alone.
The following morning, someone knocked the door. “Any
body home?” she said. The old woman inside opened the
door and asked, “Who are you?” The girl said “I’m Snow
Maiden, your daughter”. The old woman was surprised and
happy. “Oh really? Thanks God! Come in, please!” Since that
meeting, they lived happily.
Snow Maiden was beautiful, kind, diligent and helpful.
Her parents and all of her friends loved her very much. One
day, Snow Maiden played with her friends. They played fire.
At first, Snow Maiden just looked at their play. Suddenly, her
friends asked her to jump on the fire. Of course she refused it
because one thing that made her afraid was the fire. It’s
because Snow Maiden was made of snow, so she should
avoid the fire. But her friends kept on forcing her to jump on.
Finally, she could not do anything then she did it. She jumped
on the fire and she melted. Her friends were so sorry about
this, they cried and cried hoping Snow Maiden could live
again, but it was useless. Snow Maiden would not be back
anymore her mother tried to entertain Snow Maiden’s
friends and asked them to make a new Snow Maiden. They
went to a snow mountain and started making it. They
expected to have the new Snow Maiden. Days passed but
their dreams never came true.
Poor them!.

One day, a young prince was out hunting. He stumbled upon

the tower. He heard Rapunzel's beautiful voice. He decided
that he must meet her. He spied and, by watching Mother
Gothel, learned the words he has to say to have Rapunzel
drop her hair. The Prince visited her often and the two fell in
love.

Then, Rapunzel; made a plan to escape from the tower. She

wanted to be with the prince. She asked the prince to bring
her a skein of silk each time he visited. She might weave a
ladder for her escape. Unfortunately, Mother Gothel caught
on Then, she banished Rapunzel to the desert. She prince
blind and he marred the earth searching for his love.

Eventually, they found each other, and prince's eyes were

healed by Rapunzel's tears of happiness.
