In many ways, the work of a critic is _easy we risk very little, yet enjoy a position
over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on
__Negative_ criticism, which is _Fun__ to write and to read. But the __ bitter__ truth
we critics must face, is that in the _ grand___ scheme of things, the average piece of
__ junk_ is probably more __ meaningful__ than our criticism designating it so.

But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the _ discovery
and defense of the new.

The world is often unkind to new talents, new creations. The new needs friends. Last
night, I experienced something new an extraordinary meal from a singularly
unexpected source.

To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about
fine cooking, is a gross understatement.

They have rocked me to my core.

In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau's famous motto,
“Anyone can cook". But I realize - only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not
everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is
difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at
Gusteau's, who is, in this critic's opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in France. I
will be returning to Gusteau's soon, hungry for more.
 Making a summary about the movie

Remy is a mouse who lives hidden in a house on the outskirts of France with a colony
of mice led by his father. Remy has a great sense of smell and dreams of becoming a
chef, but instead in the colony they use their sense of smell to detect if the food is
poisoned or not. When the old woman who lived in the house discovers them, the mice
are forced to evacuate. During the flight Remy moves away from the other mice and is
lost in the sewers of Paris. That's where he accidentally finds his idol's restaurant, chef
Gusteau, which was now run by his partner Skinner.

From the ceiling of the kitchen Remy sees how a novice chef, Alfredo Linguini,
accidentally made ingredients for a soup. Shocked Remy falls into the kitchen and tries
to fix the mess Linguini had caused. But Remy is captured by Linguini and Skinner
discovers Linguini manipulating the soup. Without anyone noticing, the soup is served
and becomes a success.

After capturing Remy, Linguini takes him home, where he discovers that he can control
his movements by pulling on his hair. In this way Linguini with the help of Remy (hidden
in his hat) overcomes all Skinner's challenges by far. Skinner later discovers that
Linguni is the son of Gusteau. Remy steals the documents that prove it and gives them
to Linguini, who fires Skinner.

Linguni begins dating Colette, a restaurant cook, leaving Remy aside, who is reunited
with the colony and begins feeding them food from the restaurant's warehouse. Anton
Ego, one of the most prominent culinary critics in all of Paris, announces his next visit to
the “Gusteau’s” restaurant. With pressure Linguini argues with Remy and discovers the
rats stealing food. Linguni made all the rats including Remy and tells them not to come
back. Finally, Remy and Linguni apologize and return to the restaurant, where Linguni
confesses that the real cook was a rat. This angers the other chefs who leave the
restaurant leaving Linguini, Colette and Remy alone.

With the arrival of the critic Linguni asks Remy for help, who organizes his entire colony
to help in the kitchen. The mice led by Remy prepare all the dishes and capture Skinner
and the health inspector, to prevent them from interfering. Anton Ego asks for a dish
called ratatouille and is so amazed that he asks Linguni to speak to the chef. Linguni
tells him to wait for everyone to leave and it is at this moment that he reveals the truth.
The next day Ego writes a very good review of the restaurant that ends up being closed
by the health inspector. But Linguini and Collete open a new restaurant called
"Ratatouille" that is very successful, where Remy can finally be a chef.
