Key Skills Sample

It is important to highlight your most desirable features to clearly communicate to an employer the value you can add to
their organization. We call these “features” key skills. Focus on your most relevant skills. Highlight technical skills over
general descriptors or soft skills. You should also consider highlighting your language skills, computer skills, management,
training, and budget skills.

This document is just a sampling of key skills for some industries. (It does not include all key skills or industries). Do your
research about the most up-to-date & relevant skills for your industry by looking at job descriptions and identifying which
skills are most relevant and should be highlighted. You can also use LinkedIn and/or O*Net Online (www.onetonline.org)
to further research your profession.
