3. Account for the increasing poverty levels in your community. (50 marks)

4. Examine the causes and consequences of corruption in Uganda today.

5. Study the table below showing total area under forest cover for selected
African countries (1990 and 1995) and answer the questions that follow.

selected countries in 1995.

(b) Calculate the percentage change in the area under forest cover for
each country.

(c) Identify the country in which the forest cover has been destroyed:-
(i) Most,
(ii) Least.

(d) Explain the:-

(i) Factors which have led to the destruction of forest cover.
(ii) Effects of the destruction of forest cover on the environment
in the country identified in (c) (i) above.
