2004 – Write about the modals of possibility in English: identify the modals which express possibility /
identify and illustrate the contextual values which they may have / discuss the differences between the
modals of possibility.

Mention three classes of verbs that can take both an infinitive and a gerund as their complement. Discuss
the differences between the two structures for each class of verbs and give examples to illustrate them.

Specify and illustrate five uses of the present simple.

differences between the two types of complement and give relevant examples to illustrate them.

Specify and illustrate types of conditional clauses.

the differences in aspect of the two tenses.

2007 - Specify and illustrate five categories of verbs that are not normally used in the progressive forms.

2008 – Express future in English. Identify seven ways of expressing future and illustrate their contextual
values.

2010 – Identify seven cases when would as auxiliary / modal, can be used. Give examples.

2011- Specify and illustrate five uses of the Synthetic Subjunctive.

2015- Identify and illustrate the use of five state verbs which change their meaning when used in the

Devise three exercises two based on indirect items and one based on direct item to measure students’
ability to narrate past events.(sub 3)

2016- Specify and illustrate five uses of the Past Continuous. (sub 2)

Devise three exercises based on three types of indirect items designed to measure students’ ability to
express purpose.

2017 – Specify and illustrate five uses of the zero article.
