installation to Operations
Effectively manage and control change -
maintain communication with cross-functional
stakeholders
Liaise with Perth-based designers in developing
design solutions for site execution work-packs
Develop and drive DSPs (Decision Support
Packages) or KDSs (Key Decision Sheets), as
needed, to approval for initiatives / small
projects

Plan and coordinate resources and equipment


for the project to conduct the work in a safe,
timely and cost-effective manner;
Communicate with internal stakeholders and
client representatives to inform them of progress
of work;
Review and approve work permits and JHA’s
prior to commencement of tasks;
Prepare daily, weekly and shift evaluation
progress reports to senior management; and
Continue to lead and implement the Downer
Zero Harm Culture.

We are ideally seeking a Project Engineer with


prior experience in water or sewerage treatment
plants, pipelines and related water infrastructure
projects. The role will require a solid
understanding of planning, programming,
managing subcontractors and a focus on health,
safety and quality compliance.

Sourcing suppliers
Purchasing
Organising Transport (small packages to large
freight)
Sales drawing, PI&D and plant layout.
General assistance to other engineers
WWTP Project Management.
Understand and deliver upon required project
outcomes in terms of technical specifications,
budget, safety, quality and program;
Preparation of project management plans,
quality & safety documentation
Subcontractor management, including requests
for quotations, bid evaluation, subcontract
award and progress monitoring;
Material take offs, procurement and expediting;
Project resource planning and scheduling (MS
Project & P6);
Project reporting and progress claims;
Project change management process;
Provide project engineering input into estimates
and tenders;
Liaise with Site Managers to ensure that all
works are undertaken in a timely manner and in
accordance with the contract documentation
and Valmec quality procedures;
Assist the Project Manager with the collection of
information for timely submission of progress
claims, variations and extension of time claims

Contribute to the delivery of multi-disciplinary


engineering designs and feasibility studies;
Deliver best practice technical solutions in
accordance with project scope, timeframes and
standards;
Develop networks and relationships within
teams, across the organisation and with clients;
Assist with the preparation of proposals and
tenders (such as estimating design hours).
