LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE 10

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to perform the following with
at least 85% proficiency:
a. Illustrate the kinds of chromosomal mutations; and
b. Differentiate the kinds of chromosomal mutations.

III. PROCEDURE
A. Recall
What is mutation?
Compare the different types of mutations and their possible results.
How mutations cause changes in the structure and function of a protein?

B. Development
1. Students will do activity 6”Chromie Change”. Explain the procedure of the
activity. Make sure that the learners will be able to follow the steps and come up
with the expected output. While doing the activity, the teacher will facilitate.
2. After the activity is done, discuss the activity with the students. Ask volunteers to
describe the activity.
3. Then, give a follow up information about the activity. Introduce the different
kinds of chromosomal mutations, then, differentiate them.

C. Generalization
What are the different kinds of chromosomal mutations? How do they differ?

D. Application
Based from the activity, differentiate the kinds of chromosomal mutations.
IV. EVALUATION
Illustrate and differentiate the following chromosomal mutations:
1. Translocation
2. Inversion
3. Deletion
