In today’s society, information can be found almost everywhere.

One could
see information even in little things such as one’s creative slogan in T-shirt or private
messages in social media. Disseminating of information began since the pre-historic
age. The early forms of information were drawings on wall of caves and carvings on
bark of trees. Similarly, one of the earliest forms of writing material is the papyrus
which is a plant used in ancient Egypt. However, technology gave rise to new media
so information would be more accessible to the public. As stated by Kwach (2019),
the internet became a source of information as well as a social platform and business
network. For instance, educational videos aid students in understanding a certain topic
at school. In the author’s experience, he used Youtube site to learn on how to interpret
quantitative data using statistics. On the other hand, information became too sensitive
and can be easily manipulated by fake news. There were news articles showing that
former President Benigno Aquino was disappointed after the proposal in the Senate to
change the name of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to Manila
International Airport. According to filipinotimes.net, former President Benigno
Aquino has been mum about the said proposal. Likewise, overabundant in
information may lead to information overload. With that said, one must carefully
acknowledge information that observes accuracy, timeliness and validity to avoid
cases such as deception and information overload.
