DISCUSSION
The digital poster that I made above clearly depicts the issues concerning taxation at
our time today of pandemic. I have gathered different pictures from different web sites
on the internet and then combined them altogether and edited it in one picture to
achieve what I want to portray on my digital poster. My artwork is an epitome of the
negligence and wrong prioritization of the government in the midst of COVID 19. As
claimed by the presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, the makeover of the Manila Bay
will actually give ‘immeasurable’ benefit to the mental health of the Filipinos. [ CITATION

SYMBOLISMS
1. Alligators
Alligators and crocodiles in the Filipino culture have a bad image and are
associated with greed and corruption. The alligators represent the corrupt tax
collector in the Philippine government. (Ploeg, Weerd, & Persoon, 2011)

2. Cash
The cash represents the money used in the project. According to Romero
et. al (2020), amidst the pandemic the government pushes through the “White
Sand” project in Manila Bay and have allotted P389.9-million that could have
been used to suppress COVID 19 and could have fed families at this difficult time
and could have been used for the gadgets of the children for online learning.

3. ‘Tax’ moneybag
The tax moneybag symbolizes the taxes paid by Filipino’s hard-earned
money. As stated by Damicog (2020), WR Numero Research conducted an
online survey from 8, 305 Filipinos from September 7 to 8. Based on the
collected data, 45% of the Filipinos were not in favor in the project 15 percent of
the respondents said that the project is a waste taxpayer’s money.

4. Buildings
The buildings represent the Filipino community being quarantined during
the COVID 19 pandemic—watching the clownery of our government.
