To Whom It May Concern:

I am interested in applying for an elementary level teaching position with your school district. I am very familiar with your
school system and the emphasis it puts on providing an excellent education for all of its students. I am also impressed with
the focus put on technology. My experience in education and with children make me a valuable addition to your school
faculty.

In April of 2020, I obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Level Education from the University of Pittsburgh at
Bradford, then earning Pennsylvania Certification in preschool through fourth grade. I graduated with Summa Cum Laude
Honors and was nominated for Student Teacher of the Year. Additionally, I was a student-athlete all four years, participating
in women’s softball of which I was captain. Being both a student and athlete allowed me to develop excellent leadership
and time management skills, as well as a strong work ethic.

I am passionate about my career. I strive to have student-centered instruction by building solid relationships with students.
My goal is to create engaging, student-driven lessons, that are flexible and meet the needs of my students. It is a priority to
know my students and to deliver instruction that appeals to their strengths and weaknesses, while motivating each of them
to achieve at their highest level. By using formative and summative assessments to guide my instruction, the students’
needs will be met and they will be achieving at a high level.

During my fourth-grade student teaching experience, I was actively involved in the growth of the students from the first day
to my last day in the classroom. I planned, executed, and assessed standard-based lessons in all content areas. I also refined
my abilities in classroom management and collaboration skills.

I bring a comprehensive set of skills that will be valuable to your school district. I incorporated technology to create special
learning opportunities. Technology became routine for my students; we used the SmartBoard daily, implemented iPads
using StartSOLE, and students blogged about their books using laptops. My planning and preparation, my ability to scaffold
instruction, and my flexibility in the classroom have helped my students grow immensely. I was conscientious about aligning
the instruction with content goals and worked to scaffold students’ learning. I challenged the students, yet provided
support to help them achieve success without facing frustration.

Please find my attached resume. I would happily provide any additional information. I look forward to hearing from you to
discuss this position. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Melissa Nye
