Detailed Procedures Plan

Entering the Classroom Every Morning

When students enter the classroom from putting their book bags away each morning, they must
follow this procedure.

1. The teacher and/or student greater will be at the door to greet you. You will greet them by
saying “Hello” or answering their question.
2. Put your Take Home Folder in the bin next to the door.
3. The first student in the classroom will pass out the labeled play bins.
4. If a bin is already on your table, you will make a lunch choice, have a seat, and start
playing quietly.
5. Each bin will rotate daily according to the number on the side of the bin. In the bins will
be coloring, blocks, magnetic links, and iPods.
6. You will play quietly in your seats until the timer goes off to clean up.

Lining Up at the Door and Walking in the Hallway

When leaving the room as a class, students must follow this procedure.

1. The teacher will call 1 table of students at a time to line up behind the blue tape on the
floor at the door.
2. You will walk quietly to the door. Line leader will go to the front; caboose will go to the
back.
3. You will be in single file order behind the blue tape.
4. Hands will be behind your back.
5. Eyes will be facing forward.
6. Bubbles will be in your mouth to ensure you are not talking.
7. Once we leave the classroom, you will stay together as a class.
8. Keep hands behind your back, eyes forward, and bubbles in.
9. Be respectful and follow the teacher’s instructions.

Using the Bathroom

If a student needs to use the bathroom, they must follow this procedure.

1. You are not to leave the classroom during instruction time unless it is an emergency. This
means during a lesson you need to wait until after I am done teaching and giving
instructions before getting up.
2. If it is an emergency, you can use sign language and sign “bathroom” to me and I will let
you go (Teach them what bathroom means in sign language).
3. The teacher will call groups during writing to use the bathroom, as well.
4. Groups will walk quietly and quickly to the bathroom.
5. When you are done you will wash your hands, return to the classroom, and start your
work.
6. You are always able to bring a water bottle to class.

Asking for Help

When a student has a question, this is the procedure they will use.

1. Before you raise your hand, you will think about the question you are about to raise your
hand and ask; see if you can find the answer somewhere.
2. The next step is to turn to a neighbor and ask them for help, NOT the answer (Teacher
can model this).
3. If you have done both of these things, you may raise your hand and ask for my assistance
in finding the answer.

School Supplies and Classroom Supplies

Students will follow this procedure when they need to use a classroom supply or take out school
supply.

1. School supplies asked to bring in from home will remain in your desk unless told
otherwise.
2. Your school supplies must remain organized in your pencil box and inside your desk.
3. Classroom supplies are labeled and nicely organized in the back of the classroom. Those
supplies are there for your use.
4. Classroom supplies are only to be used when the teacher instructs you to do so or you
have asked the teacher.
5. If you need to use something, you will grab it, use it, and RETURN it to where you found
it. Once this area becomes a mess, it will no longer be available for you to use.
6. You will respect all the supplies in this area.
