At the end of the term, we hope to have answered

the questions:
• What is the place of the Philippines in
international trading system?
• What are the issues surrounding our country’s
engagement in international trade?
• What does the Philippines stand to gain or lose
from its engagement in international trade, i.e.,
WTO and select regional trade blocs?
• Given all the issues, costs and benefits, and its
national development goals, what should the
Philippine state do?

Your Research Projects must

contribute to answering these
questions!
