TWO SPEED THREE PHASE MOTORS

There are three-phase, two speed motors with two different kinds of winding.

Two separate windings (one for each pole ), one voltage, 6 wires. Star connection for both. The
polarity combinations more used are :

6/4 pole
6/8pole
2/6 pole
2/8 pole
2/12 pole

Low speed High speed

One winding, Dahlander configuration (∆ - YY), one voltage, 6 wires. The ratio between the two
polarities is always 1:2 .The polarity combinations more used are:

2/4 pole ( Standard Catalog )

4/8 pole ( Standard Catalog )
6/12 pole

The ratio between the output powers at the two different speed is between 1:1.5 and 1:1.8 .
