    The Uber of a Lifetime

    Characters:

    Kim- 17-year-old girl, freshman in college, had a really rough transition and

    Charlie- 35-year-old male, engaged to Sam

    Samantha- 36-year-old female, engaged to Charlie

    (The group is in Princeton, NJ. It’s close to 11pm and the couple has had a few drinks at dinner.

    It seems the couple is catching up with their college friend. Kim, Charlie and Sam are all

    waiting for their uber to arrive.)

    Kim: You guys, you really didn’t have to take me out, but it was super sweet of you guys. It was

    so nice to get off of campus for a night.

    Samantha: No worries chica! We love you so much and we just want to live vicariously through

    your college stories.

    Kim: Oh my gosh of course! What else would I be here for?

    Samantha: So true. So true. Hey Charlie, where’s our uber at?


    Charlie: (staring blankly at his phone followed by a growing chuckle until it has manifested into

    a complete cackle) You will never believe the notification I just got…

    Samantha: What do you mean?

    Kim: Is it about the uber?

    Charlie: Oh heck yeah it is…

    Samantha: Let me see! (steals the phone from Charlie and gasps and stares at him with pure

    confusion)

    Kim: Guys. What’s going on?

    Charlie: So I just got a notification that uhm… our uber driver... is… deaf…

    Kim: What? How is that going to work? How is he going to know where we have to go? What

    the heck? How did he even get to be an uber driver? What?

    Samantha: No worries we’ll just type it to him… or something like that… (The uber pulls up

    next to them)

    Charlie: Well, it’s now or never…
