Calculate the acid value of a given
fat sample
:Materials
Oil samples(olive oil)
Fat solvent 50ml
Phenolphthalein indicator 10g/1 in
alchohol
KOH
Conical flask 250ml
Burettes
heater
:Procedure
Weight 10g fat in 250ml conical flask
Heat upto 45C
Add 50ml of fat of solvent
Add 1ml phenolphthalein
indicator,mix
Titrate with 0.1 mol/1 KOH until faint
pink color persist for 30 sec
:Result
