803 Ws] B : GOVERNMENT OF KERALA a No.11675/C1/13/PWD Public Works (C) Department Thiruvananthapuram, Dated:14.05,2013 CIRCULAR ‘Sub: PWD-Deposit work-remittance of centage charge-Instructions issued:- Ref: 1 Circular No. 6005/C1/06/PWD dated 21.03.2006 2 Circular No. 23812/C1/12/PWD dated 04.01.2013 inspite of strict instructions issued vide the circulars referred to above, it has come to the notice of the Government that in several cases the payment of the Contractors are Pending since the concerned local bodies‘organisations which deposited funds for the works are not depositing money with PWD towards centage charge. The denial of payment to the the above reason Is not a’healthy practice and not acceptable. Hence the following instructions are issued with regatd to deposit works undertaken for localbodies /organisations. * Deposit for recovery of centage charge need not be insisted for works which have already been completed and payment due as on the date of this circular. * In the case of works which are on going and nol completed as on date of this circular and also for works to be taken up in future sufficient deposit to cover the provision for Tecovery of centage charge should be insisted. Concerned Executive Engineer or any Officers in PWD who Prepare estimate for the deposit works shall ensure that sufficient centage charges are included in the estimate 35 Per provisions before arranging every deposit work. The Chief Engineers in PWD. shall ensure provision for statutory payment of centage charge while recommending and submitting proposals to the Government.
