Relating Multiple Probes
If multiple probes are being used within a single program, such that
the data must relate across all measurements, it is important that
the probe calibrations relate properly to each other.

Example:
All probes and tip angles must relate.

Instructions for Calibrating Multiple Probes
Designate one tip of one probe to be the Master Tip. This could be any tip; however it
is typically at A=0 / B=0 and is short, stiff and robust. In this example, the 2x20 tip at
A=0 / B=0 in slot 1 will be designated the master, since that is also the recommended
tip to calibrate the rack.

Ideally the Master Tip is not used for other Designate one tip angle of one

necessary. Keep in mind though, if the
Master Tip gets damaged or replaced,
all probes in the rack must be
recalibrated.

Calibrating Multiple Probes
• The Master Tip is the only tip that would be
used to locate the calibration sphere.

• When calibrating the other probes (2 through

6), the “No” option MUST BE SELECTED.
All other

• If the Qualification Sphere is moved, use the
master tip to re-find the sphere (Qual Sphere
Moved is Yes). The relationship between it and
the other probes has not changed so the other
probes do not otherwise need to be
recalibrated. Master Tip
Only
