How's everything? I'm having a great time. I'm in Malang for a holiday now. I have
been in this town for a week.
Yesterday my aunty, Latifah, took me to JawaTimur Park in Batu. It was amazing. The
park provided a lot of things to enjoy, such as; a bird park, a flower park, a children park,
and "Gallery Belajar". The last was so interesting. Some scientific exhibitions could be
found here. Visitors could try them. I think you would be curious to do it if you were there.
The other day we went to "Coban Rondo". It was a fresh and cool waterfall on the slope
of mountain. We should pass a small path along the jungle to come to the place. I enjoyed it
very much.
On the last day, we went to "Ngliyep". It was a quiet beach. The most interesting to do
on the beach was playing with the sand. Tito and Mirna, my cousins, built castle with the
sand. I joined them. We were happy when the waves came. They swept the castle we made.
Well, Winda, that's all from me now. I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Please, reply
this soon. Give my best regard to both you and your family.
Yours,
Vivi

TAJ MAHAL
TajMahal is regarded as one of the eight wonders of the world. It was built by a
Muslim Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his dear wife at Agra.
TajMahal is a Mausoleum that houses the grave of queenMumtazMahal. The
mausoleum is a part of a vast complex comparing of a main gateway , an elaborate garden,
a mosque (to the left), a guest house ( to the right) and several other palatial buildings. The
Taj is at the farthest end of this complex, with the river Jamuna behind it.
The Taj stands on a raised, square platform (186 x 186 feet) with its four corners
truncated, forming an unequal octagon. The architectural design uses the interlocking
arabesque concept, in which each element stands on its own and perfectly integrates with
the main structure. It uses the principles of self-replicating geometry and symmetry of
architectural elements.
Its central dome is fifty-eight feet in diameter and rises to a height of 213 feet. It is
flanked by four subsidiary domed chambers. The four graceful, slender minarets are 162.5
feet each. The central domed chamber and four adjoning chambers include many walls and
panels of islamic decoration.
TajMahal is built entirely of white marble. Its stunning architectural beauty is beyond
adequate description, particularly at dawn and sunset, The Taj seems to glow in the light of
the full moon. On a foggy morning, the visitors experience the Taj as if suspended when
viewed from across the Jamunariver.

I live in a small village called Amed in Bali, about a two-hour drive from Kuta. It is
beach village and one of the best places for scuba diving in Bali. To reach my village,
you will need a lot of energy because it is an exhausting trip. The road is curved and
there are many ups and downs too. But as soon as you arrive in Amed, your efforts will
be paid by the beauty of my village.
Unlike other places in Bali, Amed is calm and peaceful place. The bay, some sandy,
other rocky appears to be lined with traditional fishing boats called Jukung. From the top
of the hill, people can enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are no factories or industries in
Amed, so the water and the soil in my village are still clean and unpolluted. This is
needed to produce salt by the people in the village

It was the first week of our vacation. Reno invited us to visit him at Villa Mutiara.
Twelve of us put together a part of our pocket allowance and bought a few packets of
chicken wings, some sausages, prawns, and crabs. Reno provided the drinks and sauces.
We arrived at about six o’clock in the evening. Reno already had barbecue pit
ready. Soon, we began unpacking the food we bought. The fire in the pit was strong and
it did not take long before out food was burnt.
The chicken wings which were deep brown on the outside were actually quite raw
on the inside. The sausages shrank in thin, scrawny-looking things. The crabs looked
inedible and prawns looked like cockroaches. However, everyone felt that the food was
great because we were really hungry.
I did not think any of us would like to have that sort of food on our dining table.
But, I believed no one would refuse an invitation to the villa for the same experience
again. It was great fun!
Timun Mas
Once upon a time, not far from a jungle, lived a husband and a wife. They were farmers.
They were diligent farmers and always worked hard in the paddy fields. They had been
married for many years and still not have a child yet. Every day they prayed and prayed for a
child.
One night, while they were praying, a giant passed their house. The giant heard their
prayer.
"Don't worry farmers. I can give you a child. But you have to give me that child when
she is 17 years old," said the giant.
The farmers were so happy. They did not think about the risk of losing their child later
and agree to take the offer. Later, the giant gave them a bunch of cucumber seeds. Thefarmers
planted them carefully. Then the seeds changed into plants.
No longer after that, a big golden cucumber grew from plants. After it had ripe, the
farmers picked and cut it. They were very surprised to see beautiful girl inside the cucumber.
They named her Timun Mas or Golden Cucumber. Years passed by and Timun Mas has
changed into a beautiful girl.
On her 17th birthday, Timun Mas was very happy. However, the parents were very sad.
They knew they had to keep their promise to the giant but they also did not want to lose their
beloved daughter.
"My daughter, take this bag. It can save you from the giant," said the father.
"What do you mean, Father? I don't understand," said Timun Mas.
Right after that, the giant came into their house.
"Run Timun Mas. Save your life!" said the mother. The giant was angry. He knew the
farmers wanted to break their promise. He chased Timun Mas away. The giant was getting
closer and closer.
Timun Mas then opened the bag and threw a handful of salt. It became a sea. The giant
had to swim to cross the sea. Later, Timun Mas threw some chilly. It became a jungle with
trees. The trees had sharp thorns so they hurt the giant.
However, the giant was still able to chase Timun Mas. Timun Mas took her third magic
stuff. It was cucumber seeds. She threw them and became cucumber field.
But the giant still could escape from the field. Then it was the last magic stuff she had
in the bag. It was a shrimp paste, terasi. She threw it and became a big swamp.
The giant was still trying to swim the swamp but he was very tired. Then he was
drowning and died. TimunMas then immediately went home. The farmers were so happy that
they finally together again.
