LB is a 47 year-old female with asthma. When diagnosed with asthma, her peak flow
meter readings were: 470 L/min, 500 L/min and 485 L/min

1) Which of the readings would you use to determine the patients PEF?
500L/min

2) Determine the patients green, yellow and red.


Green: 400-500L/min
Yellow: 250-400L/min
Red: less then 250L/min

3) Today, LBs peak flow meter reading is 350 L/min. What would her plan of action
be at this time?
350L/min would be in the yellow zone, so her plan of action would consist of
taking SABA or ICS and calling an MD.
