QUANTITATIVE METHODS IN BUSINESS - MATH 2310

FINAL EXAMINATION OUTLINE

DATE: THURSDAY - December 06, 2018

TIME: 16:00 – 18:00 hours
PLACE: CLASSROOM T530 – TECHNOLOGY BUILDING

Everything must be removed from the table except the examination booklet, questions, help-sheet, and
calculator. No instrument with communication capability including earphones is allowed and they must be
turned off and removed. You will not access your bag during the exam.

HELPSHEET:
One sheet (both sides) is allowed. Help-sheet must be submitted with your examination questions and
booklet. The examination work of students who do not submit their Exam Questions and help-sheet
will not be marked.

PROBLEM QUESTIONS; 120 minutes, 60 marks (10 marks each question), 40% overall weight
These problems require computation and interpretation.
100% z-table is provided with the questions.

EXAMINATION TOPICS –
Linear Programming
1- Write an LP model for a word problem (no solution is required).
2- Interpretation of a computer solution report for an LP model.
Project Scheduling
3- Solve a CPM/ PERT problem (completion time, probability, limited crash)
Inventory
4- Problem on Inventory; constant demand rate.
5- Problem on Inventory; probabilistic demand rate.
Decision Models
6- Decision Analysis models and also sensitivity analysis.
