Justin Bieber's “Love Yourself” speaks about finally cutting ties with a manipulative ex-lover.

In this song, Justin reflects on his past relationship and realizes that he's better off by
himself. ... The singer emphasizes that he's moving on and tells her to go and love herself in a
dismissive manner
Cause if you like the way you look that much
Oh baby you should go and love yourself
And if you think that I'm still holdin' on to somethin'
You should go and love yourself
'Cause if you like the way you look that much
Oh baby you should go and love yourself (yeah)
And if you think (you think) that I'm (that I'm)
Still holdin' on (holdin on), to somethin'
You should go and love yourself

"Love Yourself" is a song recorded by Canadian singer Justin Bieber for his fourth studio
album Purpose (2015). The song was released as a promotional single on November 10, 2015, and
as the album's third official single on December 7, 2015. It was written by Benny Blanco, Ed
Sheeran and Bieber, and produced by Blanco. An acoustic pop song, "Love Yourself" features
an electric guitar and a brief flurry of trumpets as its main instrumentation. During the song, Bieber
uses a husky tone in the lower registers. Lyrically, the song is a kiss-off to a narcissistic ex-lover who
did the protagonist wrong.
Nothing is more damaging to your confidence and self-esteem than being in an emotionally abusive
relationship.
Unlike physical abuse which rears its ugly head in dramatic outbursts, emotional abuse can be more insidious
and elusive. In some cases, neither the abuser nor the victim are fully aware it’s happening.
