1. In a one page essay format, students are to research an artist and art movement. Briefly
describe the artist, art movement which they are associated with and the style/technique
they use. Be sure to include dates/timeline, 2-3 titled artworks, school of study or self
trained experienced. Adding unexpected and expanded information about the artist will
be beneficial. Complete this assignment by uploading and submitting to classroom.
2. Use the artist's original work as inspiration, students will create their portrait that is
inspired by the original piece. Works should be different and not the same. We are not
duplicating a piece, we are creating new works that are inspired by past works. You
should use a similar technique and reference. Students may render as they wish, (use
any material that will achieve the desired effects).
