Dear Students,

In units 2 and 3, you will make a video about a car accident that has recently happened in your
country and what you would do to prevent road accidents.

Here are the steps to complete the assignment.

Step 1:
Do exercises from Practice Resources – units 2 and 3 on Blackboard.

Step 2:
Read “The world’s most dangerous roads” (Discoveries Magazine May 2011) in Community on
English Discoveries.

Step 3:
After reading the magazine article, get ready to talk about dangerous roads in your city or country.

Step 4:
Prepare your script including information about:

 What you have read in the article

 If you had heard about those dangerous roads in the article before
 where dangerous roads in your city/country are located
 why or when these roads are dangerous
 accidents that have happened there
 when the last accident that happened there was
 what the news said
 what you heard the authorities offered to do after those accidents

This text will be your video script so make it interesting to the audience!

Step 5:
Now, record yourself on a video telling us about dangerous roads and accidents.
Practice several times before recording the final version of your video.

Here are some things to keep in mind while recording your video:
 Speak as clearly as possible.
 Smile.
 Be in a well-lit area.
 Be confident.
