Due date: Week 3
Objective: To practice a variety of activities based on elemental grammar structures and
vocabulary from your English I course to improve your skills on the four areas of language as
an A1 Level student, so you can be prepared for the Oxford English Test.
Theme / competencies to achieve: To develop your listening, speaking, reading, and writing
skills as an A1 level student according to the CEFR while practicing the Simple Present tense
with affirmative, negative statements, and questions with do and does, to talk about habits and
routines, the verbs in simple present and the use of question words.

 
Instructions:
This activity consists of 5 parts. When you finish each activity, take a screen shot of your
results and you upload ONE word document of your results.

Please read the instructions carefully.

Activity 1: Simple Present tense. Affirmative Statements

a. Click on the next link and drag and drop the words to create Affirmative sentences. Try
to do it in only a few moves.

b. When you finish, take a screen shot of your result and copy the image to the document
you will upload.

Activity 2: Simple Present tense. Negative Statements.

a. Click on the following link, you have to create Negative statements in Simple Present
tense. Read the elements of the sentence given to you and write a full sentence. If you
want to you can use the contracted form.

b. You can click the “Check” button next to each sentence you complete to verify your
work.

c. Include the screen shot showing your sentences on your Word document.

Activity 3: Questions with Do and Does in simple present.

Activity 5: Mariana’s Daily routine

b. Listen carefully and pay attention. You will have to write 10 sentences based on what
you heard from the video. Change the pronoun “I” for “she” or “Mariana”.
You will have 2 options to start every sentence: “Mariana wakes up…” or She wakes
up…”. For example, the first sentence is:
Mariana wakes up at 8 o’clock in the morning.

c. Create and type the 10 sentences in your document .

Deliverable:
Hand in a Word document with what is asked in each exercise. Number the answers according
to the exercises.
