Single Parent Scholarship Fund Application Deadline is June 15

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (2020)- The Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas
(SPSF) provides direct financial support to help single parents pay for higher education and
degree programs. The deadline to apply for fall semester traditional scholarships is June 15.

ASPSF provides scholarships and supports single-parent students who want to pursue their
education and field of study. They also strive to increase income and change the standard of
living for families. Eligible students must be pursuing diploma programs, associate degrees,
bachelor's degrees, Master of Arts in teaching, and licensure in massage therapy or cosmetology.

To be eligible for a traditional scholarship, students must be a single parent pursuing a career-
oriented course of study as a high school or GED graduate. You must also be a legal United
States resident or have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status and reside in
Carroll, Madison or Washington counties. Additional eligibility requirements apply.

The Single Parent Scholarship Fund strives to create brighter futures for single-parent and their
families. SPSF provides financial assistance to low-income families while assisting them in
pursuit of higher education programs.

Students seeking healthcare or professional certifications can attend approved institutions of


study at (NWTI, UAMS/Schmieding Center, Petra Allied Health, PRN, North Arkansas College
or NWACC) and various courses at the University of Arkansas Global Campus.

financial assistance to low-income single parents who are pursuing a career-related course of
study to gain sufficient employment to meet the basic needs of their families.
