The UP-Law Center and the Legal Education Board (LEB), have embarked on an empirical-
based research study on the State of Philippine Legal Education. This aims to: (1) assess the
current state of Philippine legal education, (2) identify the legal needs of various social
groups, and (3) recommend the appropriate reforms and intervention to make the
Philippine model law curriculum meet such needs.

In this bout to strengthen the knowledge of students, we wish to invite you to participate in
the said research study by participating in a three (3) hour focus group discussion (FGD) to
be held on February 26, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the DVOREF Campus. Registration
will start at 1:00 in the afternoon. The FGDs will be participated in by representatives from
the government, business, the private sector, multi-sectoral organizations, and law student
councils and organizations.

Your participation in this FGD will provide valuable information that can support the
Philippine model law curriculum and introduce much needed reforms and interventions in
legal education. Other than the loss of your time, we do not foresee any costs, risks, or
discomforts that may result from your participation as this shall entirely be voluntary.

We hope you would be able to fit this event in your busy schedule. The participants will
surely benefit a lot from your expertise on the discussions. Should you have concerns, please
