Excellence is often acknowledged through prizes and awards

Nowadays it is popular to say that excellence is often acknowledged through prizes and
awards. Everyone agrees with this opinion but there are a lot of cases when recognition was received in other
ways.
To begin with, it is safe to say that rewards are valuable for scientists,working people and
especially athletes. As a result, those ones become well-known in their area or whole world and gain respect
and recognition which provide them to strive even more. Furthermore, properly used money prizes can gain
even bigger excellence than the achievements itself. For example, an athlete who has won a big amount of
money could set up sports complex for everyone to improve.
However, some of the well-known people are acknowledged not for their strides. For instance,
many of the young people are recognized because of their relatives. Therefore, they do not need to reach or
prove anything. Moreover, awards are not always the method to be recognised. For example, a lot of famous
scientists, artists or even athletes has never received any award but they are acknowledged in the whole
world.
To sum up everything, prizes and awards are not always the case to gain excellence. In my
opinion, there are a lot of ways of becoming well-known without winning or discovering anything.
