New trends in physical activity

Introduction

Muscles and bones grow stronger with regular exercise and physical activity. It helps with
respiratory, cardiovascular, and overall health issues. Maintaining a healthy weight, lowering
your risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers are some of the benefits of staying
active. Popular ways to be active include walking, cycling, wheeling, sports, active recreation
and play, and can be done at any level of skill and for enjoyment by everybody.

New trends in gyms: pilates

Pilates is a type of exercise that focuses on body strengthening, with a focus on core strength.
This aids in the improvement of overall fitness and well-being. Pilates, like Yoga, focuses on
posture, balance, and flexibility. Some benefits:
● improved flexibility.
● increased muscle strength and tone, particularly of your abdominal muscles, lower back,
hips and buttocks (the 'core muscles' of your body).
● balanced muscular strength on both sides of your body.
● enhanced muscular control of your back and limbs.

Pilates is a popular low-impact exercise; this means it may not be as effective for weight loss as
other cardio exercises, such as running or swimming.

It is recommended to practise pilates a minimum of 3 times per week in order to see some kind
of result. However, to further improve your body's strength, flexibility and endurance, you can do
up to 4 or 5 Pilates classes a week.

Physical activity in the street: skate
Skateboarding is a popular form of recreation and sport among teenagers in which a rider
stands balanced on a small board with wheels. Skateboarding as a professional sport features a
variety of competitions, including vertical and street-style events, and is considered one of the
so-called extreme sports.

Only in the U.S. an average of 40 people die in skateboarding accidents per year.

The danger of injury, the desire to pull off a difficult trick, and the sport's physical demands all
combined produce a powerful adrenaline rush. It's exciting to pull off a difficult trick you have
been working on for months, and that excitement is one of the reasons skateboarding is so
popular.

Skateboarding is not considered to be illegal. You have complete freedom to buy, have, share,
and ride a skateboard. However, there are some areas where skating is permitted and others
where it is not. It is best to not skate where it is prohibited to avoid getting in trouble with the law,
security, or property owners.

Elderly people and physical activity

During the aging process, physical activity decreases by 40%-80% due to reduced muscle
mass, strength and physical endurance, coordination and balance, joint flexibility and mobility
and cardiovascular and respiratory function.

Physical activity is important for the elder as it helps maintain the ability to live independently
and reduces the risk of falling and fracturing bones. Reduces the risk of dying from coronary
heart disease and of developing high blood pressure, colon cancer, and diabetes. Can help
reduce blood pressure in some people with hypertension.

2
The best way to get started is to focus on a light- to moderate-intensity activity, such as
walking 5–15 minutes per session, 2–3 times a week. Research has shown walking to be a low
risk of injury and no known risk of severe cardiac events. No matter your age, you can find a way
that works for you.

However, there are some elders that are not motivated to exercise, this is why it is important to:
1. Find an Exercise Group.
2. Provide Rewards.
3. Start Out Small.
4. List the Benefits.
5. Make Exercise a Fun Activity.

Sportswear and fashion

The fashion trends are gradually changing as time passes. Wearing sports gear outside of the
sports fields was not very common a few decades ago. However, today you can't walk more than
a few meters without seeing someone dressed in these clothes. People have generally accepted
sportswear as everyday clothing due to the numerous benefits it provides.

Some sportswear designers have been successful and have established an excellent reputation
all over the world. Today, most of them are also making everyday casual clothes that are highly
influenced by sportswear. Some examples of this are Adidas and Nike.

Celebrities have been wearing sportswear either because they see it as fashionable or as a way
to market a specific brand. As soon as a certain star or celebrity shows up for an event wearing a
tracksuit, cap or shoes, you will quickly see this fashion trending on the streets.

Wearing sportswear is comfortable in a variety of conditions. This clothing is made of soft

materials like cotton and polyester. Therefore, it will not irritate the skin. Notably, sportswear is
also very absorbent, making it ideal to wear during a casual outdoor day.

Unlike most formal clothes, sportswear is notably cheap. According to various surveys, people
would rather buy sportswear both for their kids and teenagers.

Finally, some people also wear sportswear because they want to show their loyalty to a certain
team. We have all seen people put on shirts that are similar to those used by famous teams
that play soccer, rugby, cricket or other sports.

Conclusion
Sports are a very popular thing nowadays. You can see it from TV programs or propaganda to
high fashion runways, this shows how much people this trend is reaching. Sport not only has a
high impact on our physical health, but also on our mental health and how we perceive things.

Even when some time ago we could not see sports in any other form than as a show, it has grown
so much to the point that everyone owns many sportswear pieces and does some kind of
exercise. This has also been achieved thanks to technology, as it has helped sports to reach a
wider range of expectators.
