Standard Chartered Pakistan Ltd.

Introduction
Standard Chartered Pakistan Ltd is a Pakistani banking and financial services company
in Pakistan, which is Pakistan's oldest and largest foreign commercial bank. It employs over
9000 people in its 94 branches in Pakistan and is a wholly owned subsidiary of British
multinational bank Standard Chartered.
Standard Chartered Bank (Pakistan) Ltd. is the oldest and largest international bank in Pakistan.
It is also the first international bank to be awarded Islamic banking license and the first to open
an Islamic banking branch.

The history of Standard Chartered in Pakistan dates back to 1863, when the Chartered Bank of
India, Australia and China first established its operations in Karachi.
In 2006, Standard Chartered Bank acquired Pakistan's Union Bank. On 30 December 2006,
Standard Chartered merged Union Bank with its own subsidiary, Standard Chartered Bank
(Pakistan), to create Pakistan's sixth largest bank.

2013 marked Standard Chartered 's 150th anniversary in Pakistan. The Bank, which started as
the Chartered Bank opened its first office in Karachi in March 1863.

The Banks serves both Retail and Corporate and Institutional Banking customers. Retail Banking
provides credit cards, personal loans, mortgages, deposit taking and wealth management services
to individuals. Corporate and Institutional Banking provides clients with services in trade
finance, transactional banking, lending, securities services, foreign exchange, debt capital
markets and corporate finance. It also offers a complete suite of Islamic banking solutions under
its Standard Chartered Saadiq brand.

The Bank employs over 3,400 people in Pakistan and has a network of 68 branches in 11 cities.

Q1. Globally or locally established?
Ans. After the completion of the merger processes, the chartered accountant
Limited is now operating with the network of 68 branches all over Pakistan
offering a wide range of products and services to its customers and the community
at large. Consequent to the merger of the three banks, multiple branches in the
same vicinity have been relocated to the strategic locations. This not only widened
the Banks presence in more areas but also reduced the annual rental cost by 53
million approximately. Chartered accountant limited launched new products and
services, during the year 2011. The ebanking services were introduced that
satisfied the needs of different customer segments. The Bank also successfully
entered the VISA International network by August 2011. Besides broadening the
Bank’s sources of foreign exchange and income, our entry into the VISA network
means that owners of VISA-branded cards issued anywhere in the world can now,
without restriction, enjoy the convenience of having access to local currency funds
at all ATMs of the Bank.

them a good environment, when they tired off their work we take them on a tour or
give them vacations we also celebrate different occasions in our organization like
14 August and many others to reduce the stress of our employees.

Ans : Sometimes we don't consider our employees mood when there Is alot of
work pressure sometimes the employ becomes aggressive. We have to perform alot
of tasks so we don't have time to consider their moods.
