    A billion cans or bottles of Coca Cola are drunk (drink) every day worldwide!

    This famous drink was invented (invent) in 1886 by an American chemist. Dr john
    Pemberton, in Atlanta USA. He called (call) it a health drink. At first it was made
    (make) from the cola nut and coca plant. Pemberton's partner, Frank Robinson,
    gave (give) it the name Coca Cola.
    The business didn't start well. In the first year only nine drinks a day were sold
    (sell). In 1888, the business was bought (buy) by a man named Asa Candler. He
    opened (open) the first factory, in Texas in 1895. Since then, billions and billions of
    gallons have been sold (sell) in over 200 countries.
    Coca Cola is still made (make) in that factory in Texas today. And it is certain that
    Coca Cola will be drunk (drink) far into the 21st century.
