Methodology

This part discusses the research method of the study. It includes where the study will be

conducted, who and how many will be the respondents, what instrument to be used, what method

to be used, how the study will be conducted, how the information needed was adopted and how

data will be analysed to solve the problem.

Research Design

This study will use the experimental method of research as it aims to discover the

relationship between linguistic performance and scientific research writing proficiency of

graduate school students.

Locale of the Study

The study will be conducted at the Graduate School Department of Occidental Mindoro

State College - Main Campus in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. This is to eliminate other factors

about the venue which may affect the results of the study.

Respondents of the Study

The respondents of this study will be all graduate school students of Occidental Mindoro

State College. They will be selected through purposive sampling.

Research Instrument

The instrument to be used for the data gathering of this study will be an adopted criterion

for rating research proposals by Timmerman, et.al (2013) and a self-constructed questionnaire to

measure linguistic performance.
