LITERATURE

3I's | 2024 Alubijid National Comprehensive High School

WHAT IS REVIEW OF RELATED
LITERATURE?
A review of related literature is the process
of collecting, selecting and reading books,
journals, reports, abstracts and other
reference materials. The following may be
collected:
1. Background information about the problem and related concern

2. Theories that explain the existence of the problem and the possible
connection between certain factors and the problem

3. Data that confirms the existence and seriousness of the problem

4. General and specific findings of studies related to the problem

5. Recommendations for further study given in related studies

IMPORTANCE, PURPOSES, AND
FUNCTIONS OF REVIEW OF RELATED
1. It helps or guides the researcher in searching for or selecting a better research
LITERATURE
problem or topic.
2. It helps the investigator understand his topic or research better.
3. It ensures that there will be no duplication of other studies.
4. It provides the conceptual or theoretical framework of the planned research.
5. It gives the researcher a feeling of confidence
6. It provides information about the research methods used
7. It provides findings and conclusions of past investigations
CHARACTERISTICS OF REVIEW
OF RELATED LITERATURE
1. The surveyed materials must be as recent as possible

2. Materials reviewed must be objective and unbiased

3. Materials surveyed must be relevant to the study

4. Surveyed materials must have been based upon genuinely original and
true facts or data to make them valid and reliable.
FOREIGN LITERATURE
Any thesis topic other than in own native
literature. They may be the literature of another
literature, comparative literature or any theme,
topic, genre of a foreign literature. It can be
written in one's own native language.
FOREIGN EXAMPLE
According to (Prasetyo, E., et al. 2019), study habits include going to lectures, reading books, going to the
library, and taking exams. Has a significant impact on academic achievement. The purpose of the study was
to examine the relationship between students’ academic success and their study habits, as well as the
indicators that had the strongest correlation with it. In February and March of 2018, the study was carried out
at FMIPA UNNES’s Biology Department. Students from the Biology Department in the academic years
2014, 2015, and 2016 made up the sample of responders. With the use of a proportionate stratified random
sampling technique, 308 students in total were selected as the sample. A questionnaire instrument was used
to collect the data, and SmartPLS assisted in the path analysis method’s analysis. The data analysis’s findings
demonstrated that the indicators of Study habits and students’ academic success are significantly correlated.
Department of Biology. The study habit indicators’ correlation coefficient values range from high Reading
books, going to lectures, taking tests, and using the library were all considered low. The habit of reading
books had the strongest correlation, according to the study. Well, it is recommended to carry out the
experimental study pertaining to the efficacy of Reading routine.
FOREIGN EXAMPLE
As mention by (Rabia, et al. 2017), an important factor in the growth of
knowledge and perception is good study habits. A person’s study habits
reveal his or her level of learning, degree of ambition, and desired income.
All of these could be chosen throughout the course of a lifetime with the aid
of one’s study habits. As a result, it is believed that study habits and academic
success are related. This study looks at the relationship between students’
study habits and academic achievement. A sample of 270 students was drawn
from two government colleges. The government and Allama Iqbal College
for Women in Sialkot. Boys’ Technical College, Sialkot. The chi-square test
was used to see whether study habits and academic achievement were related.
The findings demonstrated a strong correlation between students’ academic
achievement and their study habits.
LOCAL LITERATURE
Any thesis topic in your own native
literature. They may be the literature of
another literature, comparative literature
or any theme, topic, genre of a foreign
literature. It can be written in one's own
native languange.
LOCAL EXAMPLE
The foundation of a learner’s academic performance is their study habits. It is a routine activity that
students carry out on a daily basis, much like reading, taking notes, leading study groups, and meeting
learning objectives. Depending on how well it benefits the pupils, it can be classified as either beneficial
or detrimental. Therefore, establishing the link between students’ academic achievement and their study
habits was the main goal of the study. The study habits and academic performance of the respondents
were characterized by means of the descriptive-correlation design. Participants in this study were one
hundred twenty-six (126) senior high school students in Grade 11. Furthermore, the Palsane and Sharma
Study Habit Inventory was the primary research tool used in the study. Budgeting time, physical
condition, reading comprehension, note-taking, learning motivation, memory, taking tests, and health
are its eight sub-scales. The results indicated that the study habits of the participants are comparatively
ordinary. The findings showed that there is no conclusive link between study habits and academic
achievement. Additionally, the findings demonstrated that the students’ study habits are essentially
ordinary. Improving students’ study habits is also important since it will improve their academic
achievement, particularly in the areas of note-taking, reading comprehension, and health. (Tus, Jhoselle
2020)
LOCAL EXAMPLE
In keeping with (Baron, J., 2022), the purpose of the senior high school
academic performance study was to compare the performance levels of
ABM, SMAW, and HUMSS students in the areas of oral communication,
general mathematics, and earth and life science. This study employed a
differential research design, with Mean and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)
serving as the statistical instruments. The results indicate that children in the
ABM, SMAW, and HUMSS strands perform significantly differently
academically in the areas of general mathematics, oral communication, and
earth and life science. Furthermore, post hoc analysis shows that academic
achievement in HUMSS and ABM is equivalent. The study also showed that
children at ABM, SMAW, and HUMMS performed significantly differently
academically.
