MONTH OF FEBRUARY:
iTeach kick-started it's 12th phase on 10/02/2020 with around 150 volunteers
registering for the project!
The sessions started at both Vasavi and Rajarajeshwari schools.
The fundamental idea for this phase of iTeach was to focus on the overall
development of the government school kids. As a result, we added everyday
activity sessions after the curriculum schedule so as to bring about a balance in
the learning process and growth of the kids.
The activity sessions include:
1.Public speaking - to bring out the best orators among the government school
kids
2.Personality Development- Personality development sessions include group
building activities, vocabulary set improvement and many more on all the 5
days of the sessions .
3. Art and Recreation- to give them one day to relax and enjoy the melody of
learning, arts and craft.
The volunteers showed profound interest to develop these skills and impart right
form of education and development in the kids!
The key goals of the phase being improvement of Spoken English, Computer
Applications and Practical Learning were equally upheld as the major interest
of this iTeach phase and efforts are being put in to blend all these equally in this
learning trail.

MONTH OF MARCH:
The Rota month of March saw the initialization of newer dynamics to education
along with completion of content (portions) that was framed for the school kids.
Firstly, we had iTeach volunteers meet on 29/02/2020 which sparked
reflective discussions with an attendance of about 20 volunteers. The impact
measure and content completion were taken up as minutes of the meeting.
Our first event for the phase 12 also the first of its kind, iTeach in collaboration
with the Melton Foundation hosted a Four-Day Workshop on Skill
Development and Gender Awareness. With a volunteer participation of close
to 60, this event spanned from 2/3/2020 to 5/3/2020. Workshop contents were
divided between the four days, with an equal mixture of agenda as follows :
Day 1 – Grammar check activity, talk on gender equality
Day 2 – Vocabulary builders, group discussion activity for the kids
Day 3- Concept of good touch and bad touch, Team building activity
Day 4 – Menstrual hygiene talk, evaluator grammar exercise.
This event was a kickstart for networking and expansions, in addition to being
an extensive learning forum .
Next in implementation which was our second event for this phase in
collaboration with the IIC BMSCE and Pentagram BMSCE, iTeach embarked
on organizing a Science –Math Day for the students at BBMP Vasavi school
on 06/03/2020.
With about 25 volunteers, this 90-minute event comprised of a quiz session on
basics of maths and science. It was then succeeded by a presentation talk by the
pentagram coordinators . The kids then enjoyed playing a team building
(memory activity) and the event ended with the distribution of pencils for the
kids.
The month of March was thus effective in energizing fruitful collaborations,
giving learning ,its dimension of joy.
