GENERAL CONDITIONS
This set of Specifications shall govern the methods of construction and the kinds of materials to be used
for the proposed fence shown in the plans and detail drawings. All parts of the construction shall be
finished with good workmanship, to the fullest talent and meaning of the plans and these Specifications,
and to the entire satisfaction of the Architect/Engineer and the Owner. The construction
shall conform to all the requirements of the National Building Code, as well as the local rules and
regulations of the City OF ______________, Philippines.

CEMENT PLASTERING FINISHING
101.1 Scope of work includes all plastering/sandblasting work and all other work required as
specified in this specification.
101.2 Refer to drawing for extent, location of work and other requirements.
101.3 Protect work of other trades from damage during plastering work.
104.1 Clean all surfaces and remove projections, dust, loose particles and other materials,
which would prevent good bond.
Wet thoroughly all surfaces before plastering. Workmanship: Finish plaster work
plumb, level square and true within tolerance of 3 mm in 3 meters, without waves, cracks
and other imperfections.

CONCRETE HOLLOW BLOCKS
101.1 Provision of this section, shall apply in particular to Concrete Hollow Bocks
Works. Concrete hollow block work for structure and it immediate environs, as called for by plans and
Specifications, involves a number of phases of work
101.2 Except where otherwise definitely specified, furnish and install concrete hollow blocks
as shown on plans, and as herein amplified in detail.
102.2 Water: Clean, reasonably clear, and free from injurious amount of oils, soluble
salts, or other deleterious substances.
102.4 Reinforcements Lintel and vertical reinforcement bars which conforms strictly to ASTM
specifications.
SECTION MW
METAL WORKS
101.1 This specification includes materials, fabrication, erection and inspection of welded
structural metal work as indicated.
101.2 Materials and workmanship shall be in accordance with the requirement of the American
institute of Steel Construction and the American Steel and Iron Institute. All welding
materials shall conform to the requirements of American Welding Society.
101.3 The works include steel structural works complete with two coats of rust inhibitive
paint.
101.4 Where required, the contractor shall prepare shop drawings for approval by the
Engineer.
Shop drawing shall indicate clearly the following:
101.5 All material shall be handed, shipped and stored in a manner that will prevent distortion
or other damage. Materials shall be stored in a clean location and kept properly drained.
101.6 Erection
1. Bracing. All structural steel framing shall be carried up true and plumbed and
temporary bracing shall be introduced wherever necessary to take care of all loads
to which the structure may be subjected, including equipment and operation of the
same. Such bracing shall be left in place as long as may be required for safety.
Wherever piles pf materials, erection equipment or other loads are carried during
erection, proper provision shall be made to take care of stress resulting from such
loads.
2. Adequacy of temporary connections. As erection progresses the work shall be
securely bolted or welded, to take care of dead loads, wind and erection stresses.
3. Alignment. No permanent welding shall be done until as much of the structures as
will be stiffened thereby have been properly aligned.
4. Field Welding. Any shop paint on surfaces adjacent to joints to be field welded
shall be wire brushed to reduce the paint film to a minimum.
5. Gas Cutting. The use of gas cutting torch in the field for correcting fabrication
errors rill not be permitted on any major member when the member is under stress
and then only when approved.
6. No structural steel shall be erected until the concrete has developed sufficient
strength to carry the or after the minimum curing period of seven (7) days, unless
otherwise approved by the engineer.
7. Field painting. After erection, all field connections including welds, and all
abraded surfaces, shall be given a coat of rust inhibitive paint.
8. Inspection shall be made promptly to permit immediate correction of defects. The
Engineer or his authorized representative shall perform the inspection.
SECTION PW
PAINTING WORKS
101.1 The work covered by this section consists of proper preparation of surfaces, the
furnishing of all labor, materials, scaffolding and other necessary materials and in
performing all operations in connection with painting.
101.2 This section covers the complete painting and finishing of all wood surfaces, the painting
of plasters, concrete and other surfaces throughout the interior and exterior of the
surfaces.
102.1 All workmanship shall be of the very best. All materials shall be applied under adequate
illumination., evenly spread and smoothly flowed on without segs.
102.2 All knots, pitch streaks and soppy spots shall first be punched up. For exterior surfaces,
use quality sealer.
102.3 Except where otherwise noted or specified, all paints shall be applied in three (3)
coats (priming, body & finish).
102.4 The use of roller for paint application is required. Except for in accessible surfaces in
which the painter's brush shall be used.
102.5 All paints and materials shall be of approved brand and must be of the Engineer's
approval
102.6 For both exterior concrete surfaces, use “Davies” or any equivalent applied in two (2)
full even coats, over the primer, the second to be applied over the first coat only after it
has thoroughly dried.

ELECTRICAL ROUGH – INS
101.1 All electrical works shall be done in accordance with the rules and regulations of the latest edition of the
Philippine Electric Code, applicable ordinances of the local government and with the requirements of the local
power company.
All revision or additional works on electrical plans should be consulted to the designer (P.E.E.)
