METHODOLOGY FOR RICE HUSK POWER GENERATION

Combustion is one of the oldest and established technology for power generation. Biomass
combustion based power projects are similar to coal fired plants. In this process biomass is fired
and heat energy is used to generate steam at the boiler. High pressure steam turns the turbine and
in turn it rotate the alternator, producing electricity.

Electricity generation = 1.3kg per KWh

According to an estimated data, for 100% of energy input (i.e. Rice husk), electricity produced is
approx. 23.14% of total input energy

Avg. Caloric value of rice husk = 3410 Kcal/kg

Energy lost are in the form of waste heat rejected to condenser and energy loss.
