Program overview
Program02The Berkeley CTO Program is designed for
experienced participants in technology function to step
into senior management roles in their career. Through
a unique mixture of theory, practical teaching methods
andpractitioner interactions, this program delivers the
hands-on experience and skills necessary to make that
transition.
The Program enables participants to take on a more
strategic view of their organization’s technology
architecture and business landscape, enhance their
business acumen, develop initiatives to lead the
technology transformation and implement the change
management towards organizational success.

The Berkeley CTO program offers participants
the most effective learning outcomes through its
unique mix of theory and practical knowledge. In
the program, participants not only gain insights and
proficiency through lectures, individual exercises
and interactive discussions, they also learn from
immersive practical experiences. That includes case
studies, business simulations and group assignments
along with inf luential guest speakers. In addition,
participants will be part of immersive Silicon Valley

Curriculum
The Berkeley CTO program delivers learning that brings
a professional’s career to the next level. Participants
learn through lectures by faculty experts and specialists, 15+ Case Studies

discussions. A Capstone Strategy Project - in which

& Social Networks. He has a MSc in Mathematics, PhD in Computer Science & a PhD,
Management (Marketing). He has been a associate & a assistant professor at Haas School
of Business, University of California Berkeley from 2008 - 2014.

Thomas Y. Lee
Research Scientist and Associate Adjunct Professor, Operations and IT Management

Thomas Lee has a PhD, Engineering Systems & MS, Technology Policy from MIT. He has
also done his Bachelor Studies in Symbolic Systems & BA, Political Science from Stanford
University.

Sameer Srivastava
Associate Professor and Harold Furst Chair in Management Philosophy and Values,
Co-Director, Computational Culture Lab

Sameer B. Srivastava is Associate Professor and Harold Furst Chair in Management

Philosophy and Values at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and is also affiliated
with UC Berkeley Sociology. His research unpacks the complex interrelationships among
the culture of social groups, the cognition of individuals within these groups, and the
connections that people forge within and across groups. Sameer was a partner at a global
management consultancy (Monitor Group; now Monitor Deloitte). He holds AB, AM,
MBA, and PhD degrees from Harvard University.
