Use this worksheet to categorize five of the jobs you found in Career Action Worksheet
6-5 as a stretch, current, or contingency job target; then compare two jobs in terms of
their fit with your needs, interests, and qualifications. Be prepared to report your
findings in a PowerPoint presentation.
List the job title and the company’s name for five of the jobs you found in Career Action
Worksheet 6-5. Categorize each job as a stretch, current, or contingency job.

Compare Two Jobs
Select two jobs above to compare and label them A and B. In “My interests and needs,”
list five things that are important to you in a job and rate each job on these items. For
example, you might list challenging work, close to home, and flexible hours (see Career
Action Worksheet 3-1 and 3-2 on your preferences). In “My qualifications,” rate how
qualified you are for each job.
A: Brueggers Bagels
This job would be too early for me because I need time to do my homework and wouldn’t have
time to sleep because I have class all day

B: Hiland Bakery
This job is almost everything I would love except they want at least a year of bakery experience
and all I have is almost a year in the Hy-Vee bakery which isn’t much of a bakery. Also this place
being a smaller, local place they probably wouldn’t be very flexible with my school schedule.
