Supermarkets should only sell food produced from within their own country rather than imports from

overseas.

What are your opinions on this?

Nowadays, every country imports many different kinds of products and there is reason for it. This
could be cheaper, have a better quality or even be only possible option because it is anavailable in our
place. But some people claims that it has it’s disadvantages.

Buying products from other places out of the border can have damaging impact on our own
economy. Of course, commodities are cheaper, but things, made by our producers sometimes will feel the
bad consequences because of it. Therefore, if there wasn’t no import at all – that would be strong factor for
firms to be more oriented on our market , having profit and making better stuff.

In spite of its downsides, import food can have many benefits. First, we can taste products, that
aren’t produced in our country, trying something new. Secondly, it is always has better quality and
completely justify its more expensive prices. Finally, when food is coming through the border, importers are
paying taxes, which came to the budget of country, what allows it. There is also many other advantages
like having diverse range of food with vitamins and minerals, making people health to improve itself.

In my opinion, there always should be place for foreign products in every country, especially those,
which is unavailable there. For example, it could be some exotic products, raised in tropical climate.
Although, when import includes fruits, vegetables or similar goods, that are everywhere in our nation, than
import for products like this should have some restrictions in order to support national producers.
