It is can be seen that importing food from different coutries around the world is more popular in many
coutries. Although it may bring about certain negative impacts, these are far outweighed by the benefits
brought from this trend.

local farmers wait for seasons to grow and sell their products. When imports are available, shoppers can
now buy many types of produce out of season. For example, they can buy avocados and asparagus all
year round. Therefore, farmers are lost their source of livelihood and need to find other jobs in different
fields. Moreover, some imported products are added with preservatives to make them look fresher
through a long trip. Amount of preservatives are long-term risk factors for breathing problems like
cancer, stomachaches. For insurance, in Viet Nam, many cases of health symptoms such as
stomachaches and vomiting, which are always appear in news, are linked to the consumption of
imported meat products from China.

However, despite the aforementioned agricultural concerns, import food offer significant benefits to
consumers and society. Plant food imports help to solve the problem of lacking food sources in some
countries. For example, some nations lack agricultural land and have to suffer from natural disaters such
as storms and droughts such as Japan, Philipines. Doing agricultural work is difficult for these countries.
Importing food can ensure good supply and bring enough nutrition for individuals. Besides, when there
is a variety of food from other countries, people can try some new food that is unknown to the past
generations from many traditional cuisines. For example, people nowadays can try Japanese or Korean
cuisine without having to go far.
In conclusion, even though importing food may indeed bring certain inconveniences, the benefits in
terms of consumer and society are more impactful and meaningful. Based on the aforementioned
arguments, I contend that import food in many coutries is an overall positive trend.
