II. ENVIRONMENTAL AND INDUSTRY ANALYSIS

II.1 SWOT Analysis

Strengths
 The fries are made with fresh and organic banana and sweet
potato.
 The prices are budget-friendly so it is affordable for everyone.
 With our product, customers could try something new and healthy
at the same time because it is special and just a few individuals run
a business like this that is the reason why we don’t have a specific
competitor.
 Preparation and Cooking are quick and easy.
 It eco-friendly because we used a banana leave as packaging.
 It can collaborate with banana and sweet potato farmers and it can
encourage farmers to plant more bananas and sweet potatoes.

Weakness

 A major weakness that may count against us is the fact that we

are a new fries food – business and perhaps some people prefer
potato fries because it is what they are used to eat.

Opportunities

 The fact that we will be running our food stall close to the San
Juan plaza and church gives us several opportunity to market
our products to a large customer base.
 Farmers of bananas and sweet potatoes are also going to
benefit by it since we can work with them to motivate them to
grow more bananas and sweet potatoes.
 Since our products are unique, customer will enjoy its unique
taste, and they’ll be tempted to purchase more of it.
Threats

 The economic downturn is one of the main challenges we will certainly

encounter, just like any other business. It is certainly true that a
downturn in the economy has an impact on purchasing and spending
ability.
 The opening of a new fries food stall business in the same area as
ours could present yet another challenge to us.

II.2 Macro-environmental Analysis (PESTEL)

Political

 Political Governance System

It seems that the country have a stable political system. Sur-fries can make
strategies based on the stable political environment.

 Transition of Government and Changes in Policy

There is consistency in policy making from one government to another.

Secondly governments from all parties adhere to the treaties made by the previous
governments.

 Wide Regulation

Every component of the food sector is subject to extensive regulatory

frameworks from governments across the world. This encompasses the criteria for
product storage and transportation, commercial kitchen cleanliness, and even the
qualifications for workers in the food industry. This unquestionably makes the food
business one of the most strictly regulated of all industries. On the good side, this
prevents customers from receiving nourishment that is of low quality, but the complexity
of regulation undoubtedly reduces the margins of the food industry.
Economic

 Dependence on consumer demand

Although demand for sustainability produced food is growing, it is subject to

changes and is influenced by the state of the economy. If consumer demand declines,
farmers who depend on a particular crop or commodity may be at serious risk.

 Rising Labor Costs

Laborers are making more money these days, therefore disposable income is
increasing. Hiring labor is becoming more expensive across all businesses. This is due
to both increased demand for employment and rising government requirements for
minimum pay. As in many other sectors, the consequence of rising labor expenses is
straightforward: less margin for the business owner, and consequently less profit.

Social

 Gender Composition in Labor Market

Surfries can use gender composition of labor market to understand

the level of liberal nature of the society, women rights, and women’s say in matter
of societal issues and consumption decisions. The gender composition of labor
market is a good indicator of disposal income of household, priorities of the
households, and related needs.

 Level of Social Concerns & Awareness in Society

Higher level of social concerns in the society often result higher consumer
activism and pressure from non-governmental organizations, & pressure groups.
Technology

 Property Rights & Protection of Technology Oriented Assets

Surfries should analyze the legal status of various property rights and intellectual
property rights protections that are common in Philippines.

 The use of Machinery will be minimal and the SnS Fries Shop will not rely
on technology to operate. Instead, technology will be apply more in
advertising the product.
 Likelihood of Technology Disruption

If the country is hub of technology companies then there is a high chance of

technology disruption among various industries. Surfries has to assess whether it can
live with the fast pace of technology disruption in its industry.

Legal

 Safety Guidelines

The food business has strict regulations on safety issues, as was mentioned in
the Political part of this PESTLE research. There are several regulations on how food
should be handled, cooked, and kept in every nation. These regulations include
information on the maximum temperatures that certain food kinds may withstand as well
as instructions on how to clean them. Although this is primarily a political problem, if any
of these rules are ever broken, it turns into a legal concern. As a result, in order to avoid
expensive litigation, those in the food industry must exercise considerable caution to
make sure they adhere to these regulations.

Environment

 Fragile Crops

Sweet potato crops are susceptible to damage from pests and diseases which
can result in significant losses. This can also increase labor costs for farmers who must
monitor and treat crops regularly.
 Seasonal Production

Sweet potato production is highly seasonal and dependent on weather

conditions which can result in unpredictable yields and cash flows.

 Weather Condition

Weather conditions like drought, extreme heat, or flood can significantly impact
sweet potato and banana production, leading to crop failure and financial loses.

2.3 Micro-environmental Analysis

has been a leading brand in the food industry for over 25 years and our
business is just new in the entrepreneur world. Local Vendor of Fries on
the street or around the area will also be our competitor.
E. Media-channels
We will use the media to advertise our brand and sell our products.
Therefore, we need to maintain our current status and relations with the

financial losses.
III. DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS
3.1. Products or Services

The SatisFRIES and Sur-FRIES, which SnS Shop sells, are very addictive
sweet potato (kamote) fries. Our product is essentially fries made from kamote that
have been seasoned with various flavors. Salted tastes include cheese, sour cream,
and barbecue. Additionally, customers may choose whether or not they want chocolate
syrup on top of their fries. For those who enjoy eating fries or finger snacks, this product
is adequate.

SnS (SatisFRIES and SurFRIES) produces snacks for a variety of customers and,
of course, to make a profit. As a result, we go above and beyond to maintain a wide
selection of fries and snacks available at our locations. SatisFRIES and SurFRIES are
fried sweet potato slices mixed with variety of flavors and luscious creamy chocolate
syrup. This “sweet potato fries" concept arose when people were accustomed to plain
French fries as one of the most famous side dishes of all time. Considering the taste is
identical from potato fries, it will be easy to sell this new product to children and adults.
The fries, which SnS sells at a great price, are a combination of a nutritious and alluring
food. Sweet potato fries with chocolate syrup on top make up the majority of what is
known as "sur-fires and satisfries." SatisFRIES and SurFRIES are tasty finger food
snack that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. With our product, people
may indulge in both something unique and healthier. It is significantly healthier than
potatoes since Sur-Fries are comprised of camote. Both potatoes and sweet potatoes
are nutrient-dense vegetables, however sweet potatoes have a higher vitamin and fiber
content as well as less total carbohydrates than potatoes. The growing need for quick
meals that can be eaten anytime and everywhere has given rise to the invention of
"satisfries and surfries."

The price may vary according to its sizes: small, medium, and large. The small would
be 30, medium is 50, and large is 70.
3.2. Size of the Business

Small Business

Ms. Sally Macato, the business’ proprietor and a lover of French fries and finger
foods, created the newly established business known as Sur-fries. She wants to create
an enterprise that attracts customers by providing them with a unique and improvised

traditional old-fashioned French fries. The stall will be located near at San Juan Plaza

Mission

Sally’s Stall of Sur-fries’ mission is to provide our customers the best-tasting,

high-quality banana fries that is made with fresh, hand-cut or machine-cut bananas and

3.4. Location

picked this site because it is close to their primary target demographic and because
they anticipate a high amount of sales.

3.4 Background of the Owner

The owner, Ms. Sally B. Macato, has plenty of business management

experiences because she has already marketed items to clients as well as promoted

and advertised products to them. She had become used to interacting with many

different kinds of individuals. We are all aware that having a business requires

sufficient information and abilities. The owner might claim that she already knows

possibility that the price of the product will lessen.

VI. MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL PLAN

VI.1 Form of Ownership
The Sns Shop is a sole proprietorship. Since it is a sole proprietorship, the
Fries Shop can continue to be a small company with just one owner. This
is advantageous since it minimizes paperwork. Sole entrepreneurs
declare their business's earnings on their personal income tax form rather
than a separate tax form.
If she is not performing well, she may be eligible for certain tax breaks. If
her gains are small, she can deduct her losses from her personal income
and benefit from a reduced tax level. It is entirely the property of the
owner. No one could advise the sole entrepreneur how to manage her
business, and all earnings go to her.
