Strengthen the COVID 19 Community Screening Programs

This is with reference to my letter no CMLSSL/COVID19/2020(02) dated on 2020.03.20.

CMLS.SL has considered the prevailing status of COVID 19 pandemic in Sri Lanka and could notice the
importance of community screening programs as preventive measures. Further laboratory service
should be ready to cater increased number of specimens for COVI 19 confirmation with existing
facilities.

Therefore it will be efficient if the COVID 19 testing laboratories can be functioned 24 hours
continuously and expand laboratory service through community screening programs.

We proudly inform you we have experienced medical laboratory technologists who are willing to work
at COVID 19 Community Screening Programs on voluntary basis to cover up the diagnosis demand.

The name list of volunteer medical laboratory technologists is attached herewith and we would
request you to take necessary actions to establish COVID 19 Community Screening Programs
considering national value of efficient laboratory service in effective controlling COVID 19 pandemic in
Sri Lanka.
