The district has one Export Processing Industrial Park at Amingaon, two Industrial Growth Centres
at Chaygaon, one Integrated Infrastructure Development Centre at Rangiya, two Industrial Areas at
Kalapahar and Rani, three Industrial Estates at Kalaphar, Rani and Bamunimaidam.
Kamrup has one oil refinery at Noonmati, which is ~ 51 km from Chaygaon
Investment Opportunities Demand side market assessment reveals that there is good potential for the pharmaceutical industry in
the region and therefore it is an attractive destination for investments into the entire range of activities
involved in pharma manufacturing
There are only 34 manufacturing units, all of them in Assam, this leaves most of the demand to be
fulfilled by supply from outside the region. This presents an opportunity for Pharma manufacturing
companies can set up units in Assam to serve both the local markets and the markets in Bhutan and
Myanmar, and API markets in Bangladesh.
Connectivity Chaygaon is well connected by NH37 which connects it to all the districts on the southern banks of River
Brahmaputra. NH37 gets connected to NH31 by the Nara Narayan Bridge, and in turn NH31 connects
Chaygaon to West Bengal.
There is a railway station in Chaygaon, which is close to the site
The nearest airport is the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at Guwahati which is at a
distance of ~ 25.5 km from Chaygaon.
The nearest IWT Terminal is at Pandu, which is at a distance of ~ 39 km from Chaygaon
Proposed Infrastructure A new power generation plant of 21 MW is coming up at Amring in addition to the 60 MW power plant

Abundant ground water and surface water is available at the proposed site
Assam Gas Company has plans to extend its existing gas pipe line network to proposed site
