Dear parents/carers,

In our English class, we’re now starting Unit 4 of Super Safari. The topic of the unit is In
the jungle. We’re learning about jungle animals and how to ask about them. Your child
is continuing to learn English through songs and chants. We also compare where
animals live.

In this unit, your child will learn:

 To name jungle animals: rhino, tiger, elephant, snake, spider, crocodile

 To ask and answer questions about animals: Is it a …? Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.
 To join in with a chant
 To follow instructions: Walk through the jungle. Turn around. Run away.
 To join in with a song about jungle animals
 To listen to and follow a picture story
 To appreciate the values shown in the story and to say Let’s make a … . Good
idea.
 To categorise animals according to where they live (home or jungle)
 To reflect on his/her learning

To help your child progress, you can do the following:

- Practise key words from the unit by saying jungle. Your child names jungle animals:
rhino, tiger, elephant, snake, spider, crocodile.

- Use animal toys to ask Is it a (tiger)? Your child answers Yes it is./No, it isn’t.

- Give your child simple instructions to follow using language he/she has learnt in class:
Walk through the jungle. Turn around. Run away.

We hope your child is having fun using Super Safari and enjoying learning lots of new
language!
