Dear parents/carers,

Welcome to the first unit of Super Safari! In this unit, we’re meeting the characters and
revising greetings, introductions, colours and numbers. We’ll sing a song too!

In this unit, your child will learn:

 To use simple introductions: Hello, I’m … and say Goodbye

 To identify the main characters: Gina, Polly, Leo, Mike
 To ask the question What’s your name? and answer I’m … .
 To join in with a chant
 To follow instructions: Say ‘hello’. Smile. Shake hands. High five.
 To join in with a song about the colours and numbers

To help your child progress, you can do the following:

- Ask your child to practise the instructions at home. He/She gives you instructions to
follow.

- Ask your child to point to the characters and say, for example, Hello, Gina.

- Practise greetings and introductions with your child: Hello, I’m … . What’s your name?
