Dear parents/carers,

We’re already on Unit 2 of Super Safari! The topic of the unit is My colours. We’re
singing a song about painting together, learning about rainbows, experimenting with
mixing colours and of course we’re continuing to follow the adventures of our Super
Safari animal friends.

In this unit, your child will learn:

 To name colours: red, blue, green, yellow

 To talk about the colours of classroom objects: It’s (yellow).
 To join in with a chant
 To follow instructions: Show me something (blue).
 To join in with a song about painting
 To listen to and follow a picture story
 To appreciate the values shown in the story and to say Poor (Gina). Thank you.
 To name some of the colours of the rainbow in English and think about where
and when rainbows appear
 To reflect on his/her learning

To help your child progress, you can do the following:

- Point and ask your child to identify the colour of red, blue, green or yellow objects you
have at home. He/She says, for example, It’s green.

- Play a colour-finding game on your way to school or into town. Encourage your child
to look around and point to items of a particular colour by saying, for example, Show me
something red.

- Encourage your child to say Thank you when someone gives him/her something or
does something kind.

We hope your child is having fun using Super Safari and enjoying learning lots of new
language!
