Dear parents/carers,

Welcome to the first unit of Super Safari! In this unit, we’re meeting the characters and
learning greetings and introductions. We’ll sing a song about classroom instructions
too!

In this unit, your child will learn:

 To use greetings and identify the main characters: Hello, Gina, Polly, Leo, Mike,
Goodbye
 To introduce him/herself: Hello! I’m … .
 To join in with a chant
 To follow classroom instructions: Stand up. Sit down. Say ‘hello’.
 To join in with a song about classroom instructions
 To reflect on his/her learning

To help your child progress, you can do the following:

- Ask your child to practise the classroom instructions at home. He/She gives you
instructions to follow.

- Ask your child to point to the characters and say, for example, Hello, Gina.

- Encourage your child to say Goodbye and Hello when they go to school and come
home.
