Dear parents/carers,

In our English class, we’re now starting Unit 6 of Super Safari. The topic of the unit is
My town. We’re learning about making suggestions and keeping our town clean. Your
child is continuing to learn English through songs and chants and of course we’re
continuing to follow the adventures of our Super Safari animal friends.

In this unit, your child will learn:

 To name places in town: bus stop, park, school, toy shop, supermarket, zoo
 To make suggestions about where to go: Let’s go to the … .
 To join in with a chant
 To follow instructions and act out a story
 To join in with a song about suggesting where to go in town
 To listen to and follow a picture story
 To appreciate the value of keeping your town clean shown in the story
 To say It’s tidy/messy.
 To reflect on his/her learning

To help your child progress, you can do the following:

- Use the pictures in your child’s book to practise key words from the unit: bus stop,
park, school, toy shop, supermarket, zoo.

- Listen to the unit song and chant with your child. These are available to download on
the website.

- Ask your child to draw a picture of your town and describe it to you. He/She says, for
example, This is the toy shop.

We hope your child is having fun using Super Safari and enjoying learning lots of new
language!
