1. Purpose
The purpose of the this document is to explain the necessary setups and the procedure to produce the
TRANS.JOURNAL report both in COB/EOD as well as ONLINE

2. Setup
The TRANS.JOURNAL report can be produced based on the following setups done in the system, by
means of these the report can be produced on any day. Since the processing involves compilation and
catalogue, the report generation process to be done with terminal session alone.

The below main processes to be setup


 REP1 - Report Generator
 REP2 - Source create

Report Generator

A record named TRANS.JOURNAL2 is created in REP1 which defines the corresponding files and
fields. Ensure the same record exists in the system

Source Create
Run the REP2 to create the source for the defined record in report generator, REP2 will create two
sources RGS.TRANS.JOURNAL2, RGP.TRANS.JOURNAL2 in RG.BP and the same will be compiled
and catalogued

3. COB/EOD
The TRANS.JOURNAL report can be produced in COB / EOD by attaching the REP1 record in the
DATA field of the job EB.PRINT in the batch record XXX/EB.PRINT, where XXX is the company
mnemonic. On attaching, the report will be produced in the successive EB.EOD.REPPORT print job in
the last level of the same batch processing stage which is BNK/REPORT.PRINT.REPORTING.

The produced report can then be viewed using the enquiry REPORT.LIST.

4. Online
The online process consists of two stages, both the below process can run consecutively to generate
the report online and the same can be viewed through the enquiry REPORT.LIST

 REP3 – Sort report


 REP4 – Report output

Sort report

REP3 is the process of building the data for the report; it clears the work file
RGS.TRANS.JOURNAL2 and builds the same with the defined data.

Report output

REP4 process will produced the report based on the file built in REP3. Once the REP4 completed the
TRANS.JOURNAL report can be viewed through the enquiry REPORT.LIST
