ADMISSION NOTICE - 2009

Central Institute of Tool Design is a premier Institute in Asia to provide specialized training in tool engineering. The
objective of the Institute is to meet the requirements of the Industries in the field of Tool Design and manufacturing and
to train the technical personnel in these fields. The Institute was established in the year 1968 by the Govt. of India with
assistance of UNDP and ILO.
Applications are invited in the prescribed form for admission into the following course commencing from September.,
2009.

1. Course Contents: Applied Industrial Pneumatics, Applied Industrial Hydraulics, Mechanical Engineering
(Materials for Tooling, Design Practice, Cutting Tools, Metrology and Quality Assurance, Die Casting Dies,
Plastic Moulding Tools, Press Tools, Jigs & Fixtures) Electrical Engineering, Applied Electronic Control for
Automation, Micro Processors, Micro Controllers and PLC’s, Sensor Technology, Mechatronics
Technology, Neural Network and Fuzzy Logic
2) Mode of Selection:
A) Selection of candidates through Entrance Test: Candidates will be selected through entrance test for
PGDM. Selection is purely based on merit in the written test conducted by CITD, Hyderabad.
B) Candidates appearing for final year Degree Examination can also apply provided they secure a final pass in
the qualifying exam at the time of the admission and they should produce the proof of passing the
examination well before the finalization of admissions.
3) How to Apply: Prescribed application form and prospectus (containing rules and syllabus for Entrance Examination
can be collected from CAD/CAM Department, Central Institute of Tool Design, Hyderabad – 500 037, by enclosing a
crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- (S.C/S.T candidates Rs. 100/-) drawn in favour of Principal Director, CITD,
Hyderabad, on any Nationalized Bank, Payable at Hyderabad. The S.C/S.T Category candidates need to enclose a
copy of Cast Certificate attested by Gazetted officer. Applications can also be down loaded from our website
www.citdindia.org and the filled in application forms can be sent to the Director, CITD (LCA), Central Institute of
Tool Design, Hyderabad – 500 037 along with Demand Draft as mentioned above.
4) Commencement of issue of application forms: 1-06-2009.
5) Last Date for submission of application forms: 13-08-2009.
6) Last Date for submission of application forms with late fee of Rs. 200/-: 20-08-2009.
7) Note:
i) Candidates appearing for final year Degree Examination can also apply provided they secure a final pass in
the qualifying exam at the time of the admission and they should produce the proof of passing the
examination well before the finalization of admissions.
ii) Reservation for S.C/S.T category is considered as per Govt. of India rules.
iii) The seats advertised are provisional and the Institute reserves the right to increase or decrease the no. of
seats.
iv) The rules made by the Institute regarding selection and closure of the admissions shall be final and the
Institute reserve the right to alter, vary, change and / or modify the rules governing the admissions.
